Workshop: Getting Started with Creative Commons Online

Join us to talk about Institutional Repositories (IRs), their role in higher education, and their place within the Sul Ross State University community. 

Learning Outcomes of this Conversation

  • Participants will explain the origin and purpose of Creative Commons (CC) and its link to Copyright
  • Participants will identify the main types of Creative Commons licenses and their differences
  • Participants will make informed choices about using Creative Commons-licsensed work
  • Participants will make informed choices about applying Creative Commons licenses to your own work
  • Participants will understand the benefits of open licensing and its relationship with Open Access publishing and Open Educational Resources; and
  • Participants will find, use, and re-use Creative Commons-licensed materials responsibly
