Spotlight Sul Ross: Dr. Lisa Sousa

Join us for the Spotlight Sul Ross lecture featuring Dr. Lisa Sousa, Assistant Professor of Education and Program Specialist in the Educational Diagnostician Program.  

Session title:  Evolving toward Hyflex Courses and Multi-Modal Instruction: The next step to engage with your students

Session description: This session is an introductory session that describes tools to engage with students using multi modal methods.   Participants will:

  1. Identify modalities of instruction which include Hyflex
  2. Give examples of applications that support mutli-modal engagement for students
  3. Describe outside of the box opportunities for engagement with students

This introductory course will provide an overview of multi-modal applications.  An additional session scheduled later will provide step by step tutorials so that beginning instructors can get started if requested.  Whether your instructional delivery is face-to-face or online, this session will benefit you.

Lisa Sousa, PhD, is an assistant professor and program specialist for the Educational Diagnostician Graduate Program for Sul Ross State University.  Her students are mid-career professionals that participate in the online program. Out of a need to engage with her online learners, Dr. Sousa developed techniques that help with student engagement and scaffolded instruction for students of various abilities.  Her research interests include psychometric assessment and online accessibility.
